Michael Clear counsels founders and entrepreneurs in connection with their estate planning. He works to create strong, flexible, and practical estate plans, including wills, revocable trusts, powers of attorney, and medical directives. With business owners, he maximizes tax planning strategies in the early stages of the company and before transactions. Michael has significant experience structuring plans to maximize the benefit of qualified small business stock. He has experience with buy/sell agreements, grantor trusts, grantor retained annuity trusts, and insurance trusts.

As a partner in our private client services department, Michael regularly advises clients on the far-reaching financial implications of estate planning, estate and trust administration, probate litigation, and business succession planning. Yet he is also a trained counselor with insight into the family dynamics these matters can affect.

A former Division I college baseball player, Michael coaches Little League and continues to play baseball and golf when possible. Michael enjoys spending time with his wife, Melissa, and three children.
